the topic of consent and adoption was tackled wonderfully can we expect anything less and was a gripping story for older readers. Wilson's writing style is warm and despite the heavy subject matter there are lots of charming and humorous moments throughout the story.

It's 1960 and Laura is a fourteen year old girl from a poor area that goes to the local grammar school.

I was surprised when I so easily slipped back into the world of Jacqueline Wilson at the ripe old age of 29. Jacqueline has not stopped making tweens cry since i stopped reading her books which means she is at least consistant. A heartbreaking, compelling and timely story for older readers about teen pregnancy and its consequences, family trouble and unlikely friendships, set in 1960.

I thought that they wouldn't be the same now that I am in my late 20's and maybe my good memories of them should be left untouched.I have so many positive memories of reading her books as a child (and even rereading them as an adult) and I’m so excited to read a book set for young adults and one of a more adult and sensitive subject too. Anche questo libro non fa eccezione: si tratta della storia di una gravidanza di una ragazzina di 14 anni, in seguito a violenza, che viene quindi portata in una struttura per ragazze madri. Nina has two brothers, Little Richard (nicknamed after the singer) and older brother Daniel, who is always kind and friendly. Laura often stays for dinner at the Bertrams which is full of laughter, plenty of food fit for a restaurant, and a delicious pudding for afters.
